Melaye accuses Governor Bello of sponsoring thugs over rice

- Senator Dino Melaye has taken to his Twitter handle to accuse Governor Yahaya Bello of sponsoring thugs to disrupt the delivery of bags of rice donated by senators to civil servants  - Melaye says the governor released N10 million Kogi fund to the thugs for the purpose  - He alleged that the thugs were to block the Abuja-Lokoja highway with the expectation the bags of rice would be delivered on Friday, October 27  Senator Dino Melaye has raised an alarm accusing the governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello, of sponsoring thugs to block the entrance of Lokoja from Abuja. EFCC Recovers N11.9m For Redeemed Church

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for being "an agent of transformation." This commendation was given on Wednesday by one of the regional Ministers of the Church, Pastor Mark Barango, while receiving a sum of N11,984,844.11 recovered and returned to the church by the EFCC. "My impression with the work of the EFCC is that it is perfect, perfect, perfect. The EFCC is an agent of transformation. Their work is perfect and the church is grateful that the money is returned to us," he said.  Mr. Ishaq Salihu, South- South Zonal Head of the EFCC, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State handed over the money to him. The money was stolen by a banker and the Account Officer of the church, Ameh Cyril Idakwoji, in a web of fraudulent diversion and suppression of the finances of the church. The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) has revealed that the Federal Government ordered it to take over the troubled Nigerian carrier Arik Air to save it from total collapse. AMCON said that as at the time it was taking over the airline in February this year, the carrier was already enmeshed with a major crisis that would have led to a loss of thousands of jobs. The spokesman of AMCON, Mr. Jude Nwauzor stated today that the airline like Aero Contractors, which it took over about five years ago experienced huge challenges arising from all manners of business irregularities and series of operational encumbrances bordering on flights delays, cancellations, bad corporate governance, accumulating staff salaries, among other ills.  He, however, said that eight months after the takeover of the airline, its operations had changed for good.
